Looks amazing. Did you go through LuLu?
Thank you!I used createspace.
They do look pretty. =)How many pages were able to squeeze out of the story?-David
It's 144 pages total, front matter and a few blanks and all. I went with 8x5 after measuring the trade paperbacks on my shelf and finding that's what they were. 11pt garamond with 1.15 line spacing. One thing that stretched it is that it's got 19 chapters, a ton for such a short book.
Dude! Those look SICK! I can't wait to have a copy in my hands! Also, you better autograph it too! =D
Those look great. Put it on a shelf in a big chain store and it'd fly off.Curiously, how many words is the book?
Thanks guys!about 33k, Jarrett.
Thanks, Alan. My novella's 22k and I always thought it was too small for a print edition. Sounds like maybe not.
22k is definitely big enough for createspace to print up, but you probably won't be able to fit any words on the spine. 110 pages is the bare minimum they allow, and they recommend not with less than 130 pages. My 144 pages gives a roomy enough spine.By the way, I'm reading Chasing Filthy Lucre right now and really enjoying it.
Thanks for the info. I had a crazy idea to try and get myself a booth at a few of our local sci-fi conventions. There are three or four a year in Dallas, and I'd want print copies to take there. Plus to have them for sale online. And glad you are enjoying it. Burden Kansas is next on my TBR list. Looking forward to it.
